This depends on your dog’s breed, coat type and the style you’d like to maintain.

As a general guide, most dogs benefit from professional grooming every 4–6 weeks. Regular appointments help keep the coat healthy, prevent matting and allow us to maintain the style you love.

If you’re unsure, we’ll happily recommend a schedule that’s right for your dog.

Most grooming appointments take between 1½ and 2¼ hours, depending on your dog’s size, coat condition, behaviour and the service being carried out.

We’ll always give you an estimated collection time when you drop your dog off.

We specialise in small to medium-sized companion breeds, particularly those requiring regular professional grooming.

We don’t currently groom larger working breeds such as Labradors, Border Collies or working Spaniels.

Every full groom is tailored to your dog’s individual needs but typically includes:

• Ear cleaning
• Styling to your preferred finish
• De-shedding where appropriate

Absolutely.

We’ll always discuss how you’d like your dog to look before we begin. Whether you love a fluffy teddy trim, prefer a shorter practical style or would like traditional breed styling, we’ll work with you to achieve the best result for your dog’s coat and lifestyle.

If your dog’s coat condition means your preferred style isn’t achievable, we’ll explain why and recommend the kindest option for your dog.

Every appointment is carried out on a one-to-one basis in our calm home salon. This allows us to give your dog our full attention throughout their visit and creates a much more relaxed experience, particularly for nervous dogs.

Many dogs feel nervous during their first visit, and that’s perfectly normal.

We work patiently and calmly, allowing each dog time to settle and build confidence. Gentle handling, positive reinforcement and a quiet environment help create a much more enjoyable experience.

Many nervous dogs become increasingly relaxed after just a few visits.

We recommend introducing puppies to grooming shortly after they’ve completed their vaccinations.

Starting early helps them become familiar with grooming while they’re naturally curious and learning about the world around them.

This is one of the biggest myths in dog grooming.

Waiting until six months means many puppies experience bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming and clipping for the very first time when they’re much bigger, stronger and less accepting of new experiences.

Gradual introductions while they’re young usually create much happier, more confident adult dogs.

Puppy Grooming School is a four-session programme designed to introduce puppies to grooming gradually.

Each visit builds on the previous one, helping your puppy develop confidence with bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming and clipping in a calm, positive environment.

It’s one of the best investments you can make in your puppy’s future grooming experience.

We always assess every coat before grooming.

Small tangles can often be removed safely, but severe matting can be painful to brush out and may cause unnecessary discomfort.

Where matting is significant, clipping the coat short is often the kindest and most humane option. We’ll always explain our recommendations before we begin.

Our priority is always your dog’s welfare.

In most cases, no.

A healthy double coat helps regulate your dog’s body temperature, keeping them warm in winter and helping to insulate them from heat during warmer weather.

Shaving can permanently damage some double coats and affect the way they grow back.

If you’re unsure what’s best for your dog’s coat, we’re always happy to advise.

Introducing grooming early helps puppies develop confidence and creates positive lifelong experiences.

Starting early almost always makes future grooming easier.

The best brush depends entirely on your dog’s coat.

Different coat types require different grooming tools, and using the wrong brush can actually make grooming more difficult.

We’ll happily recommend the most suitable brushes, combs and products for your dog’s individual coat.

We use EmmiPet ultrasonic technology, which creates microscopic bubbles that help break down plaque without scrubbing or vibration.

Many dogs find it much more comfortable than traditional brushing.

Not always.

Before beginning treatment we’ll carry out a consultation to assess your dog’s teeth and gums.

If we feel veterinary treatment would be more appropriate, we’ll always tell you honestly.

No.

Professional treatments work best alongside regular home dental care.

We’ll happily advise you on how to maintain your dog’s oral health between appointments.

Never.

Dogs are supervised throughout their appointment and are never left alone on the grooming table or in the bath.

Their safety and wellbeing are always our highest priority.
